Unity Engineer - Pocket Souls

THE MISSION

Pocket Souls is not just another game, it's a living experiment where AI-driven companions evolve alongside players. Every Soul grows, remembers, and connects in ways that feel deeply personal. We're crafting a game that blends emotional depth, playful mechanics, and social interactions into something players return to every day.

THE ROLE

You'll be one of the core builders turning design and AI concepts into interactive experiences inside Unity. From core gameplay loops to immersive UI/UX, your work will make Souls feel alive and responsive. This isn't about cookie-cutter Unity projects, it's about pushing what's possible when AI, art, and gameplay collide.

You'll collaborate closely with designers, artists, and backend engineers to deliver seamless, polished player experiences. You'll experiment, iterate fast, and ship features that make Pocket Souls feel magical.

WHAT YOU'LL BUILD

  • • Core gameplay systems where AI Souls interact, learn, and evolve
  • • UI/UX flows that make complex AI features intuitive for players
  • • Smooth character control, animations, and emotional feedback loops
  • • Game logic for quests, interactions, and progression systems
  • • Tools for designers and artists to prototype and test gameplay quickly
  • • Optimizations that keep Pocket Souls responsive on multiple platforms
  • • Integrations with backend AI and multiplayer services

YOU MIGHT BE A GOOD FIT IF

  • • You've shipped Unity games (solo or in a team) and care about polish
  • • You know how to make gameplay feel smooth, fun, and responsive
  • • You're comfortable working with AI/ML integrations (or curious to learn fast)
  • • You thrive in small teams where your code directly shapes the player experience
  • • You can balance speed of iteration with clean, maintainable code
  • • You believe games should make players feel something and not just pass time

TECHNICAL BACKGROUND

  • • 3+ years of Unity (C#) development experience
  • • Strong grasp of game loops, state management, and event-driven systems
  • • Experience building character controllers, UI, and gameplay logic
  • • Comfort with Git, CI/CD, and collaborative workflows
  • • Bonus: experience with AI/ML integrations, multiplayer systems, or procedural generation
